Privacy statement
What StreamCom records, why, for how long — and what you can do about it.
Who we are, and why this statement exists
The StreamCom portal shows live match data from scoreboards to people who were given access. Access is by invitation only: there is no anonymous access and no self-registration. That is a deliberate choice — without it access control could not exist — but it also creates an obligation: we hold personal data of people who did not ask for it themselves, but were invited by their club.
StreamCom is responsible for the processing of the data described in this statement. This page is reachable without signing in, so you can read what you are agreeing to before creating an account.
Questions about this statement or about your data: support@streamcom.eu.
What we record, and why
We record only what the product needs to work. Per item, this is the reason:
| Data | Why it is there |
|---|---|
| Name, e-mail address and optionally a profile picture | Without an e-mail address there is no invitation, and therefore no access. The name shows who belongs to an organisation; a profile picture is added by you. |
| Language and display level | The user's own preferences. The theme (light or dark) is kept by your browser on your own device and is not stored by us. |
| Roles and access rights | The core of the product: who may watch which court. |
| Sessions: device, IP address, time | Security — you must be able to see and revoke your own sessions, and abuse must be visible. |
| Audit trail: who did what, when | Accountability. A club must be able to trace who gave someone access. |
Your name and e-mail address initially come from the organisation that invites you — your club, federation or broadcaster. That is why this statement is also in the invitation mail: you can read it before you create an account.
The legal basis: name, e-mail address, roles and preferences are processed because they are needed to deliver the service your organisation agreed with StreamCom; sessions and the audit trail are processed on our legitimate interest in a secure and accountable platform.
Your IP address, and the place we show beside it
For every session we record which device you signed in with, from which IP address, and when. You can see those sessions yourself in your account settings and end any session — including one on another device — remotely.
Beside the IP address we show an approximate place (city or region), so you can recognise a session that is not yours. That estimate is made inside our own platform, against a local copy of a geo database: your IP address is not sent to a third party for it.
The estimate is deliberately coarse — a city, not an address — and can be wrong. It exists so you can recognise your own sessions, not to track you.
What we deliberately do not do
We do not track users with external analytics services, and nothing that identifies a person leaves the platform. Product insight comes from our own data, and technical error reporting carries only pseudonymous identifiers — no name, no e-mail address. There is no automated decision-making and no profiling.
One privacy boundary is part of the design itself: a broadcaster's employees are invisible to the club. The club sees that the organisation has access, not who works there.
What you can do
Most things about your own data you can do yourself, directly in the portal:
- See what is known about you, and change most of it yourself in your account.
- View and revoke sessions — including those on another device.
- Have your account deleted.
If something cannot be done from your account, mail the address above. Deletion happens at your request, or by StreamCom on your behalf; it is irreversible and we say so beforehand.
You also have the statutory rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and portability (GDPR) — mail the address above for those. If we cannot resolve it together, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Deletion: why it is anonymisation
On deletion your account, your personal data and all your access disappear. You can no longer sign in and no longer exist for other users.
The audit trail keeps the events, but no longer the person: what happened stays traceable, who it was does not. A club that wants to trace how someone got access deserves that answer — also after that person left.
If you are the last owner of an organisation, deletion is blocked with an explanation and a route to appointing a successor. No organisation is left without an owner.
Retention
- Your account data is kept for as long as your account exists; on deletion the section above applies.
- Sessions expire by themselves and are cleaned up; you can end them earlier.
- Invitations expire after seven days; an expired invitation keeps no more than is needed to show it as expired.
- The audit trail remains — that is its function — but without traceability to deleted persons.
Changes
If what we record or who we share it with changes, we update this statement before the change takes effect. Significant changes are announced in the portal.
